2025 Dance Showcase – Places to Go, People to Meet

The Lower Foyer buzzed with excitement as crowds of family and friends, arms full of flowers, eagerly waited outside the Auditorium doors, ready to pour in for the Kennedy Baptist College’s 2025 Dance Showcase!

This year’s theme, “Places to Go, People to Meet,” was very fitting as Kennedy Dance students transported the audience through a journey of styles ranging from Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Contemporary and even the Jive. Each dance saw a variety of colours and students as they performed in large group numbers, trios, duos and moving solo performances.

The passion and energy on stage was evident as the students displayed their hard work leading up to the concert, from after-school dance rehearsals to being involved in multiple routines. The students further showcased their talent and boldness by choreographing a few of the routines themselves! The atmosphere in the auditorium was moving as families clapped proudly for their children, friends cheered one another on, and even alumni returned to celebrate and support their former peers, an excellent reflection of Kennedy’s broad and welcoming community.

A big congratulations go to Kennedy’s dance teachers, Mrs del Basso and Mrs Mayne, who curated an unforgettable show. The evening closed on a heartfelt note as the Year 12 dance thanked their teachers for the profound impact the Kennedy dance classes have had on them and their journey at the College. They said goodbye to their younger peers with teary eyes as they finished up their last ever Dance Showcase.

The night was a celebration of boldness, creativity and community filled with unforgettable performances where every student shone. It is so great to see our community come together to celebrate the talent we have in our College and If you haven’t yet seen what our dance showcase, we warmly invite you to join us at the upcoming Community Open Day!
