ELEVATE – An unforgettable night of Dance!

Last Friday’s Dance Showcase brought together students, families, friends and staff for a wonderful evening of Dance, celebrating the hard work and achievements of our students. It was a great opportunity for a variety of students across all year levels to take to the stage and share the creativity and energy they have brought to Dance this year.

Students from Years 7–12 performed a range of works, including teacher-choreographed pieces and original works created by the students themselves. The students further showcased their talent and boldness by performing some routines either on their own or in duos and trios. The atmosphere in the auditorium was moving as families clapped proudly for their children, friends cheered one another on, and even alumni returned to celebrate and support their former peers, an excellent reflection of Kennedy’s broad and welcoming community. It was wonderful to see their confidence, teamwork and love of performing come through on stage. Everyone in the audience had a great time watching the performers enjoying the moment alongside their friends.

Before the Year 12 Dance students performed their final dance on the Kennedy stage, they said their thankyous for the profound impact the Kennedy dance classes have had on them and their journey at the College. They said goodbye to their younger peers with teary eyes as they finished up their last ever Dance Showcase.

The staff then had the chance to have some fun and took to the stage for a special performance, which was met with plenty of cheers from the crowd, especially the students! A big thank you to everyone who got involved and added to the fun of the evening.

Congratulations to all of the students who performed. Your commitment throughout rehearsals was evident, and you should be very proud of the way you represented yourselves on stage.

Thank you to all of the families, friends, alumni and staff who came along and supported the event. Your encouragement helped make the evening such an enjoyable celebration of Dance at Kennedy.
