A week of Growth, Character and Connection for Year 8 and Year 11

Last week, both our Year 8 and Year 11 students stepped beyond the classroom and into experiences designed to shape character, build community and encourage personal growth.

Our Year 8 Students attended the Forrest Edge Campsite across the week, with boys and girls participating in separate camp experiences. This format creates space for meaningful connection, allowing students to grow in confidence, strengthen friendship and support one another as they step outside of their comfort zones through shared challenge, quality that are central to life at Kennedy.

At the same time, our Year 11 students travelled to Busselton for a camp designed to support them before they step into the final stage of their Kennedy journey. With a mix of team activities, reflection and shared moment together, students were encourage to grow in responsibility, deepen their relationships with one another and consider the kind of person they are becoming.

While many schools are stepping away from camps and extended off-campus experiences, Kennedy continues to value the unique role they play in students’ development. These moments away from routine allow students to build confidence, practise leadership and form meaningful connections that strengthen our College community.

We are deeply grateful to the staff who generously gave their time, care and energy to make these camps possible. Their commitment ensures that our students continue to experience learning beyond the classroom, helping them grow into people who pursue personal excellence and contribute positively to the world around them.
