Ten years ago, Kennedy Baptist College opened its doors for the first time – starting a new chapter as the school amalgamated and forged its new future. As we mark a decade since that historic moment, it’s fitting to take a moment to celebrate the school’s journey, its achievements, and the impact it has had on the lives of students and our wider community.
In its first decade, Kennedy Baptist College has established itself as one of the most innovative, inclusive and dynamic schools in the southern Perth region. From state-of-the-art facilities to a commitment to academic excellence and pastoral care, the School has consistently set the standard for what a modern, forward-thinking educational institution should be.
Looking back in reflection, it is evident that the College has achieved remarkable things. We celebrate the completion of our most recent Master Plan, which has seen ongoing improvements to all resources within the College, such as IT infrastructure, buses and air conditioning in all classrooms. The development of the Specialist Sports Program in Basketball and Cricket, which has yielded impressive achievements, and the College’s high academic standards, reflected in its NAPLAN and ATAR results. Kennedy has also implemented a range of new programs for upper school ATAR and General students, developed a learning support team and rigorous academic extension program. The development of Christian education and outreach programs has been a key part of the College’s mission, and our strong pastoral care system is something our students can be proud of.
But perhaps the greatest testament to the School’s success is the thousands of students who have passed through its doors and gone on to make a positive impact on the world around them. They are our true legacy.
“Success of this ongoing continuous improvement process is reflected in the demand for places at the College and the reputation we have gained in the community as a College of premium choice for the families whilst maintaining a strong focus on our Christian mission,” reflects Principal Mark Ashby.
As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we do so with gratitude, pride, and optimism. We look forward to the next ten years and beyond, as we strive to continue providing our growing community with a bold and innovative education for their children.
