Students competed as both individuals and teams during the recent School Sport WA Secondary School Golf Championship. Held at Lakelands Country Club in conjunction with Golf WA, 104 participants flocked from across the metropolitan area. Kennedy had four students representing the College, including Robbie (Year 11), Heejoo (Year 10), Ty (Year 9) and Connor (Year 9).
In difficult conditions of wind and rain for most of the day, all four students applied their skills against a highly competitive field, including many WA State golfers and students from golf academy schools.
Ty showed his consistency around the course, with a very well compiled Gross score of 78, while Heejoo excelled in her group, achieving a Gross score of 77 after sinking four birdies during the round. Connor and Robbie both scored a nett 78 and maintained a positive attitude throughout their game.
Kennedy Baptist College are proud to announce the below awards from the competition:
- SSWA Secondary School Golf Championship Leading Female – Heejoo (Gross score of 77)
- SSWA Secondary School Golf Championship Nett Third Place School – Ty (73) and Heejoo (75).
This is a fantastic achievement from both Heejoo and Ty!
On behalf of Miss Jess Kennedy and myself, I would like to congratulate all Kennedy students for their application and spirit shown on and off the course.
