Students Lead on Kennedy Day

Term 3 has been packed with an incredible array of community activities, including the Interhouse Athletics Carnival and our Open Day, but Kennedy Day stands out due to the hard work of our Student Executive, supported by the rest of our student leadership team. These leaders learnt practical communication and organisation skills as they prepared and ran Extended Form’s whole-school Assembly and coordinated break-time activities for Recess and Lunch.

They also executed their plans well, with the Assembly holding the rapt attention of students all the way from a ‘Four Corners’ game through to the Bible reading and student devotional. Musical acts supported the occasion, with Serena on vocals with her music tutor and Greg on bass, entertaining the crowd while a table tennis table was rolled out for a finale match. Played between Mr Kime and Mr Orr, representing the last two student contestants from the games, it was Mr Orr who won the day.

Still, it was the students who felt like winners as they enjoyed their extended break-times and made purchases of ice cream, bubble tea, and juices from an array of food vans during Recess and Lunch. Outside the Research and Study Centre (RASC), a music stage was set up for everyone to sit and listen to our talented students (and even staff). Meanwhile, inside the RASC, our students wrote their comments on an ‘Appreciation Board’ as we celebrated Australian School Library Day.

On a busy day for all, we once again would like to congratulate our student leaders on their successful work. To find out more about our leadership and Pastoral Care program, download our Prospectus below.
