Update from Transform Cambodia – Kennedy Centre

It’s hard to believe that we are well into the second half of 2022. The lockdowns and restrictions of COVID19 are largely behind us now with no staff or students currently affected. Although we have seen an increase in influenza cases which is expected in the rainy season.

July was a busy month in Kennedy Centre. Kids received new uniforms for their Public School and went on an excursion. But the highlight was a trip to Kom pot Province for Kids and Families.

Kids also wrote letters to their sponsors, focusing on sharing personal information such as their favourite foods and who their best friends are. Whilst some of the foods were exotic (Fried Frog!) stories of friendship are universal. We hope that sponsors enjoyed reading them as much as the kids enjoyed writing them.

August is a time of rest, relaxation, and resetting for staff and kids of Transform Cambodia as they enjoy their mid-year holiday.

Kids have all of August off, with Kennedy Centre holding a celebration party before break-up. Many take the opportunity to visit family in their home province. Whilst they are at home they help their family with housework, catch up on homework study, and spend time with friends. Staff had holidays for the first two weeks of August and have returned refreshed and rejuvenated. They are currently receiving training in our new curriculum timetable in preparation for the kids returning.

Staff recently began the process of choosing 12 new kids for the centre to replace those who have left. They will be available for sponsorship soon.

Thanks to everyone at Kennedy Baptist College for continuing to support and pray for Transform Cambodia.
