Year 12 Pathways

Parents know that there is nothing more important than ensuring your child has the best opportunities for their future. At Kennedy Baptist College, we share this commitment with a focus on guiding our students to ensure that they are not just well-prepared, but empowered and excited for what lies ahead.

At Kennedy, we believe in the power of choice and diversity in education. Individuals can shine and excel when a school can match their ambitions and cater for their needs. We ensure this chance by offering over 40 different Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses, enabling your child to choose a path that suits their unique aspirations.

Options can sometimes be overwhelming, so we have designed our Year 12 pathways to keep your child on track when they enter their pivotal Upper School years. As they choose their courses for Years 11 and 12, our dedicated staff provide unwavering support throughout the decision-making process, ensuring that students make well informed choices which will lay a solid foundation for their future.

For some individuals, this might look like achieving top grades in their ATAR subjects and pursuing a university degree. Our broad option of WACE subjects is sure to support your student in doing this, with units from psychology to physics, to dance, to French.

For some students, success could be marked by obtaining a Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification and entering the workforce with skills and confidence. Our external Registered Training Organisation VET program supports this ambition, opening the door for students to gain nationally recognised qualifications and experience in industries such as finance, outdoor recreation and the broader workplace. This experience equips them with the hands-on experience that sets them apart in a competitive job market.

We believe too that a child’s schooling is not solely defined by grades or achievements on paper. While we encourage and celebrate academic rigour, we also recognise that in a rapidly changing world, we must teach our students how to adapt, how to be resilient, and how to commit to lifelong learning. We equip our students with the skills and mindset they need to thrive in an ever-evolving landscape so that they can continue to define success on their own terms throughout their lives.
