Other Information

Year 7:

Students complete all subjects except for language (French or Chinese). Orders can be placed now. (Please do not place any orders before receiving your child’s College email address. This information will be emailed in due course.)

If your child attended the trials for one of our Specialist Sports programs earlier this year and has been selected, you would have received further information about your next steps.

Specialist Basketball Training Days 2026:

Students will be required to attend two-morning sessions per week and the program commences Week 2, Term 1. Sessions run from 6.45am–7.45am on the following anticipated days:

  • Year 7-8: Tuesday and Friday
  • Year 9-12: Monday and Wednesday

Specialist Cricket Training Days 2026:

Students will be required to attend one-morning session per week. Sessions run from 6.30am–7.30am on the following anticipated days:

  • Kim Hughes and Graeme Wood Shield squads: Monday
  • Year 9s : Tuesday
  • Year 7s and Specialist Girls in the program (all years): Thursday
  • Year 8s : Friday

 

The online enrolment for Instrumental Music lessons is open for 2026. The closing date for lessons commencing in Term 1 is Friday 23 January 2026.

At Kennedy, digital technology is crucial to your child’s education. To meet the College’s standards, all students must have a portable computer that meets the minimum specifications. For more information on our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program, please click here. New families can attend Device Induction Sessions, which will be held for an hour during the last two weeks of January 2026. These sessions are scheduled between Tuesday 20 January – Thursday 29 January 2026.

This will be held on Thursday 26 February 2026 at Perth HPC. During this carnival, all Year 7 students who would like to swim will have the opportunity to do so. Swimming is not compulsory; we encourage all students to participate, and attendance at the event is mandatory. More details will be provided closer to the date. Parent helpers are needed for the 2026 Interhouse Swimming Carnival. If you can assist, please watch out for a volunteer sign-up link in the College newsletter.

If your child has medical requirements, please provide updated documentation and medical plans by January 25 2024, so that the College can offer comprehensive support.

  • New—or changes to—medical conditions, treatment, or care plans
  • Current asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetic (or other similar medical) plans with their medications such as EpiPens, Ventolin, Insulin or diabetic food
  • Any other information pertinent to the medical care for your child

If your child requires daily medications to be administered, such as antibiotics, antihistamine for allergies and ibuprofen for pain relief, please fill in the Medication Information form and return this with your medications to the Health Centre.

 

Pre-start Day will kick off the 2026 school year, giving your child the opportunity to start earlier and get a feel for the campus and facilities before the other year cohorts commence. This event will take place on Friday 30 January 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please refer to the Year 7 Transition Program Booklet.

 

Monday 2 February 2026, 9.15am – 10.15am
Year 7 students are welcomed by their Year 11 Mentors during their Form classes at 9.00am before the Commencement Ceremony in the Auditorium begins at 9.15am. Parents are welcome to go straight to the Auditorium to be seated.
After the ceremony, students will have their ID photos taken and enjoy some icebreaker activities with their mentor group before starting regular classes.

Parents are invited to an informal afternoon where they will have the opportunity to meet and talk with their child’s teachers, as well as connect with other families. This is a valuable chance to engage with fellow parents and become a part of the Kennedy community.This event will take place on Tuesday 10 February 2026, 5.00pm to 6.30pm.

A day when our Year 7 students will participate in a variety of activities designed to foster teamwork and give everyone a chance to get to know each other better. This will take place on Friday 27 March 2026. More information to follow.
